Each year members of the Vatican Observatory staff share their expertise by making educational presentations to more than 5,000 persons from 90 educational, religious, academic and cultural groups.  These include scholarly discussions of research, as well as presentations to the general public that address such topics as "The Dance of the Fertile Universe: A Reflection on the Emergence of the Human Being in the Universe" and "Two Sunsets Like Luke Skywalker Saw.

Of special significance is the Vatican Observatory Foundation's support of the Vatican Observatory Summer School (VOSS) program and fellowships for graduate studies.

The staff of the Observatory publish numerous titles, lectures, and papers on their research; some also serve as professors in renowned astronomy departments such as that of the University of Arizona.

In addition, Vatican Observatory scientists are often called upon by the media to explain recent findings or discuss the interplay of faith and science in the world and within their own world view.
