In order to ensure the mission of the Foundation continues into future generations, the current $3 million endowment must be expanded. This will best position the VOF to make regular telescope upgrades, enhance educational outreach and plan for future initiatives. A perpetual source of funding by means of the endowment will provide the stability necessary to ensure the telescopes and programs of the Observatory are of the highest caliber.
Where did we come from? Where are we going? Why is there something rather than nothing? Simple questions like these have profound implications on living an enlightened life. Both science and religion grapple with these questions, each shedding light on the answers and thus illuminating our lives. The Vatican Observatory is one of the few institutions where science and religion come together.
