Jonathan Lunine is elected a member of the National Academy of Sciences.

On April 27, 2010, Jonathan Lunine, a professor in the University of Arizona's department of planetary sciences, was elected a member of the National Academy of Sciences. This election is considered one of the highest honors a U.S. scientist or engineer can achieve.

Since he is both VOSS faculty alumni and remains closely associated with Vatican Observatory.
