Interview with Jesuit Brother Robert Macke, UCF grad and curator of Vatican’s meteorite collection

Brother Robert Macke, S.J., the curator of the Vatican Observatory’s Meteorite Collection, recently sat down for a virtual interview with the Diocese of Orlando. Also located in Orlando is the University of Central Florida (UCF), Brother Macke’s alma mater. He graduated with his doctorate in physics from UCF back in 2010.

In this video interview, Brother Macke shares some specimens from the Vatican Observatory’s Meteorite Collection and discusses why faith and science are necessary to support each other.

On a day-to-day basis, Brother Macke studies the physical aspects of meteorites, such as density and thermal properties. If you’d like to learn more about Brother Macke’s work for the Vatican Observatory, watch the interview here.
