On October 26, 2017, Pope Francis had a discussion with the scientists on the International Space Station. In the modern papacy, there has been a wonderful exchange between the ISS and the Vatican. These discussions continue to affirm how the Catholic Church embraces true science.
Below is the Vatican Radio summary of this event along with the NASA video of the discussion. The questions discussed range from the place of the human person in creation to the lighter side of space, wondering how scientists go about their daily routine in zero gravity.
For me, these discussions always remind me of our natural wiring to wonder at creation and the Creator who brought this good Earth into existence. May God bless you this day with the gift of wonderment, allowing our minds and hearts to be drawn into the eternal mystery of God’s love for us.
Enjoy! And happy Monday.
